MACAU – The NLEX Road Warriors will leave Macao with what they did when leaving Manila

Neither the medalists nor the trophies will be with the Road Warriors when they arrive at NAIA. After losing in the 67-62 bronze medal match against a Korean club in the Asian Super League on Sunday at the Macao East Asian Games Dome.

There are no prizes for fourth place, but Yeng Guiao, NLEX coach, directed the Road Warriors Part of their goals when they went to Macau to face professional teams from China, from Japan and Korea.

"It was a good opportunity for the players to be together and to create a bond and a fellowship between them, especially with the new guys," Guiao said. "Certainly, we have accomplished our goal this tournament."

Guiao has been known to develop rarely used bench players or unappreciated conscripts in at least viable PBA players like Jonathan Uyloan and JR Quiñahan to name a few and help to reach the potential of his players like what happened to Beau Belga and Larry Fonacier.

Uyloan was an unknown parent before becoming a pesky defender and a reliable shooter for painters Elasto

Quiñahan and Belga rebounded teams early in their respective careers, but became familiar names under Guiao and finally received the nickname "Extra Rice Incorporated" because of their size and size.

Fonacier was the No. 14 pick in the 2005 Draft, but became his best rookie of the group under Guiao's tutelage in Red Bull.

And Guiao seemed to have found new projects in Kenneth Ighalo and Mac Tallo.

The two shone in Macau instead of Kiefer Ravena, who serves a suspension for doping, and the injured Kevin Alas.

"We miss our core but we gave a good fight," Guiao said. "We missed guys like Larry, Kevin, Kiefer and Alex (Mallari) but it's still good because it was an opportunity for the youngest and youngest to learn some lessons in international games. "
