Perpetual help shocks San Beda in NCAA juniors

MANILA – Lifelong Help The Junior Altas have achieved what their senior team has failed to do, since they have stunned the San Beda Red Cubs, 72-69, on Sunday, to open their campaign at the NCAA Junior Season 94 Basketball Tournament at the FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan.

Mark Gallano and Edzel Galoy kicked off the Junior Altas by scoring 16 points each by making the winning games in crunch time.

It was Gallano who helped Galoy's bucket to break through a 69-second standoff with seconds to go, giving them their heads for good.

A split at Yukihiro Kawamura's line, after the Cubs missed their last game, iced the win "Boys showed heart," said Perpetual Help coach Michael Saguiguit.

It was Perpetual Help's first victory over San Beda recently, with legendary coach Ato Badolato admitting that he does not remember the last time. the Red Cubs lost to the Junior Altas.
