This is the heartbreaking moment Ryan Burnett made his World Boxing Super Series dream was over.

The North Belfast boxer suffered a freak back injury in the fourth round of his bantamweight quarter-final with Nonito Donaire.

Crippled by pain, Burnett was unable to come back for the fifth round of his trainer Adam Booth Howard Foster referee to end proceedings.

The anguish and disappointment is evident in this footage, captured in Burnett's corner at the end of the fourth round.

"Adam, I can not throw a punch," Burnett tells Booth.

As for Filipino legend Donaire, the class and humility of the world champion is evident to see.

"I'm so sorry, my brother, you were amazing," Donaire tells Burnett.
