MANILA, Philippines – As debates on lowering the age of criminal responsibility continue, the public has aspired to a voice that defends the cause of children on the world stage: Miss Univers 2018, Catriona Gray.
Inviting social media, Internet users asked Gray to talk about the measures taken by legislators in the House of Representatives to set the minimum age of criminal responsibility to nine years.
Justin Dizon, a Twitter user, spoke of Miss Universe's dominant role in a foundation that helps children in Tondo.

Dizon also pointed out that if Gray stood out from the highly controversial issue, it would defeat his advocacy on behalf of children.
And a refusal to comment on this case because it is "political" would simply defeat his plea that earned him the crown. She will not be able to "look into the beauty of children's faces," said Dizon.

Another surfer, Amber Quiban, also appealed to Gray, saying that his plea for smiling children could not be realized when he was imprisoned.
