Malacañang congratulated Wednesday the presidential adviser for the resigning peace process, Jesus Dureza, to assume full responsibility for the "transgressions" of two members of his staff sacked by President Rodrigo Duterte.

Dureza, who led government negotiators in peace talks with communist and Moro rebels, resigned on Tuesday after President Duterte dismissed Ronald Flores, undersecretary for support services, and Yeshter Donn Baccay, Assistant Secretary, Support Services, Office of the Peace Process Advisor (Oppap).
President Duterte announced the resignation of Dureza in a speech on Tuesday evening in Panglao, Bohol Province.
"I am sad but I have to accept his resignation," said the president after announcing that he had dismissed Flores and Baccay for alleged corruption.
He added that Dureza was not involved in corruption but assumed responsibility for the corruption that occurred in Oppap.
