The supermoon and the "snow moon" of February 2019 will illuminate the sky this week, the biggest moon of the year (2/19/2019)

Observers of the sky, get ready. We have another "supermoon" on the way this week – the second of what some astronomy enthusiasts call the "supermoon trifecta" of 2019. Three consecutive months with complete supermoons.

So, it will not be as spectacular as the full moon of January, appeared during a total lunar eclipse and wearing catchy nicknames, such as "the super blood wolf" and "the super blood eclipse."

The full moon of February will not be a blood moon, because it will not emit a rusty-reddish hue. And it will not be a scary wolf moon, because it is a nickname usually reserved for the full moon of January.

However, all hope is not lost. As it will be another "super moon" – some will say the biggest and brightest of the year – and also known as the "snow moon", maybe we could call it the "super moon" of snow "of 2019? (At least I think it's a catchy name.)
