Tottenham 1-0 Inter Milan, UEFA Champions League report 2018/19: Eriksen gives hope to Spurs

Christian Eriksen gave Tottenham another chance to save his last 16 hopes in the Champions League with a late strike to beat Inter Milan 1-0 in Wembley.

Nothing less than a win would have been enough for the Spurs on Wednesday night, and Mauricio Pochettino's players clashed against a team from Inter who would have stood and who would have qualified with a point in London.

Harry Winks hit the bar in the first half and it looked like the Spurs were pulling out of the competition at the first hurdle – until Eriksen was no longer in the bench seat.

The Danish playmaker put an end to his team with 10 minutes left to allow the Spurs over Inter to come back to second place because of their better goals on the outside thanks to their record against the Nerazzurri.

While the Spurs still have their destiny in hand, they now have to go to Camp Nou to face Barcelona on the last day and make sure they match Inter's result against PSV. Eindhoven.
