AUGUSTA, Wisconsin – The Augusta Police Department posted a photo on Facebook on September 5 on a bus driver comforting a scared boy on his first day of school.

according to WLUKAmy Johnson, Axel's mother, who is shown in the photo, said her son was eager to start the 4K. But when the school bus arrived at the corner of the street, his mood changed. As the bus doors opened, Axel clung to his mother crying. Johnson sat behind the bus driver, and it was at that time that the bus driver, Miss Lane, took her hand to help comfort him.

"The compassion we see every day from our teachers, our bus drivers, our caretakers, our administration, the restaurant staff and the paraprofessionals is truly wonderful," the publication posted on Facebook. "We are very lucky to be able to collaborate with these people!"
