An image of NASA's Earth Observatory Day shows a bird's eye view of Flathead Lake taken in April.
The Earth Observatory at NASA has released the image of Flathead Lake. The photo was taken on April 29 from the International Space Station by a member of the crew of Expedition 58.
The legend states that Flathead is one of the largest freshwater lakes west of the Mississippi and the light blue parts of the lake come from snowmelt in the spring.
The image has been slightly improved to show the landscape with more clarity.
