Photo with noose gets the director of the California School, 4 teachers put on leave

Four primary school teachers from Southern California were put on administrative leave this week after taking a picture of them smiling while holding a noose broadcast on social media. The director of the school who took the picture is also on leave.

One parent said, according to KABC-TV in Los Angeles, that the noose was suspended from a tree on the grounds of Summerwind Elementary School in Palmdale earlier this month. She also claimed that someone had shot a video of teachers laughing and joking about the noose.

An investigation into the photo and the origin of the noose is underway, district officials said.

Some parents were so upset by the photo that they removed their children from school on a temporary or permanent basis Thursday, KABC reported.
