The Sunday lunch rush at a Waffle House in Tampa was interrupted by a van crashing into the restaurant.
Tampa Fire Rescue responded to the scene at approximately 2:10 p.m. at 3009 W. Columbus Dr.
Authorities said five people were injured, including an adult and a child who were rushed to local hospitals for traumatic injuries.
The age of the victims has not been communicated.
It is not clear if any of the injured people were inside the restaurant at the time of the crash.
