Pickup truck hits school bus in Cadillac

The Cadillac Police Department said a pickup truck crashed into a school bus Thursday morning.

Police said at approximately 7:50 a.m., officers from the Cadillac Police Department, as well as the Cadillac Fire Department and an MMR ambulance, responded to a report of an accident involving a schools van and school bus. of the Cadillac region.

Police said the crash happened at the corner of Leeson Avenue and West Division Street. They say the van was heading north on Leeson when it did not stop for a stop sign and collided with the CAPS school bus traveling east on the West Division.

Police said the van collided with the bus on the passenger side and there was a student on the bus. Neither the bus driver nor the student were injured in the accident.

The driver of the van, a 35-year-old man from Reed City, was taken to a local hospital for treatment for possible minor injuries. He received a citation for the accident.
