TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) – Pima County released new guidelines to combat the spread of COVID-19 on Friday, July 30.

As COVID-19 cases increase in the county and the Delta variant continues to spread, the Pima County health department says it is urging those who have tested positive or have been exposed to the virus to stay at home and away from others.

The department encourages residents to wear a mask indoors, regardless of their immunization status, if they cannot remain socially distant from others.

It is strongly recommended that anyone with COVID-19 who has not been vaccinated to stay home for at least 10 days after their last known exposure to a person who tested positive and if they remain asymptomatic during those 10 days.

Or, those who are exposed or infected must quarantine for seven days if they have tested negative for the virus and remain symptom-free during those days.

Those who are fully vaccinated and without symptoms do not need to self-quarantine.
