October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Capcom has stepped in to do its part. Chun-Li and Ryu, two of the most recognizable characters in the Street Fighter franchise, receive special pink costumes that players can purchase from October 12 through November 12.

All proceeds from these alternative outfits will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and Capcom guarantees a minimum donation of $ 25,000, regardless of the quality of their sale. Continue to see some screenshots.

Here in the press release we see two versions of these costumes: a standard pink and then an alternate white.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Street Fighter 5 is partnering with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), the world’s largest private funder of breast cancer research, to provide brand new themed costumes featuring playable characters Chun-Li and Ryû. These special edition pink charity costumes are designed to raise awareness and further support breast cancer research. Both BCRF costumes for Chun-Li and Ryu will be available worldwide in the PS4 and Steam versions of Street Fighter 5 for a limited time from October 12, 2021 until November 12, 2021. The costumes will be offered individually each for 5.99 US $ or both together for US $ 9.99, with all proceeds going towards breast cancer research.

Every 14 seconds, somewhere in the world, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. Globally, breast cancer is the cause of the highest number of cancer-related deaths among women, with an estimated 685,000 women this year alone. But thanks to research, progress is possible. In the United States, breast cancer deaths have declined by 40% since BCRF’s inception.

“This year, breast cancer has become the most common cancer in the world, affecting 2.3 million people,” said BCRF President and CEO Myra Bilowit. “The need for better and more effective treatments has never been greater. We are grateful for the opportunity to highlight this critical need through Capcom’s broad reach. Through this partnership, we are poised to have a direct and tangible impact on advancing life-saving science, together. “

From October 12, 2021 to November 12, 2021, Capcom will donate 100% of the proceeds it receives for the purchase of the Chun-Li and Ryu costumes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation with a guaranteed minimum donation of 25,000 USD. Capcom will disclose the full amount of its donation after the campaign ends.
