First approach to the new look UNLV basketball
The UNLV basketball team is back with official training ahead of the 2021-22 season. The Sun’s Mike Grimala and Ray Brewer give a first look at how the program looks to coach Kevin Kruger’s first season.
The UNLV Basketball Team is back on the pitch for official practice ahead of the Nov. 10 season opener against Gardner-Webb.
First-year coach Kevin Kruger remade the roster with 10 transfers, and if a practice is an indication, those transfers bring a lot of athleticism to the program, says Sun’s Mike Grimala in this edition of the Rebel Room.
Grimala gives his thoughts on the initial training session, where players such as Kent State transfer Michael Nuga and Texas transfer Royce Hamm Jr. showed signs of good play. They will team up with senior Bryce Hamilton to give UNLV improved spin – on the contrary, they will produce a more exciting basketball brand.
But who will play the playmaker? How will they navigate a schedule that includes UCLA and Michigan in the first six games? And can they sneak into the NCAA tournament?
We discuss it and more in this edition of the Rebel Room.
