Polestar to cease production of its superb hybrid at the end of 2021

The Polestar 1 Hybrid GT has created a lot of buzz in auto shows and even some lust, thanks to its magnificent appearance, 619 horsepower and respectable 60 mile range. However, it was never intended as a halo vehicle to launch the brand and pave the way for the Polestar 2 and other EVs. To this end, it is now entering its final phase of production.

Polestar had always planned to make only 1,500 copies of the Polestar 1, and it sticks to it. Most of them have been allocated to Europe and other regions and according to this the US market will only receive 125 more from the final batch.

Polestar started out as Volvo’s performance brand, and the Polestar 1’s design is actually based on the 2013 Volvo Concept Coupe. With all that power and its sleek carbon fiber body, it can hit 60 mph at from a standing start in just 4.2 seconds. At the same time, the 34 kWh battery allows you to get to work or run errands without using a drop of gasoline.

Polestar will only be making EVs from now on, so the Polestar 1 will be a unique model in the range. If you want to buy one, you can join the queue on the company’s website, as long as you’re willing to pay $ 156,500. Based on rarity, however, the Polestar 1 is likely to hold that value as a collector’s car, and more.
