POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) – The Pocatello Police Department and the Bannock County Coroner’s Office are asking the public for assistance in identifying the remains of six people who were recovered from the Downard Funeral Home and Crematorium.
The subject numbers listed below are not in numerical order. They are organized this way for internal tracking purposes. The descriptions are listed as follows:
Topic # 2
Mature male from around the mid-1960s to the early 1970s at the time of death. The male has an average build. The male has a white / gray mustache, short white beard, bald hair with white hair and thick dark eyebrows. He was wearing a brown t-shirt with a front left chest pocket. He was wrapped in a dark blue sheet around his back and had a red, white and black plaid fleece blanket around his legs. He also has gold teeth / fillings on his upper posterior molars. The man may have been in palliative care at the time of his death. He is estimated to have been in the facility for approximately 30 to 60 days.
Subject # 3
Adult male in his early to mid-60s at the time of death. The tale has a white beard with short salt and pepper hair with full hair. The male has barrel chest and appears to be of a large size. He was wearing a blue long-sleeved t-shirt with three buttons at the collar and a left breast pocket. He wore black athletic pants and wore a green non-slip sock on his left foot and a red non-slip sock on his right foot. It was wrapped in a blue / teal patterned fitted sheet and a knitted Christmas blanket in white, gray and red. He also had a pillow under his head that had a blue pillowcase with penguins and polar bears in Santa hats. The man may have been in palliative care at the time of his death. He is estimated to have been in the facility from late November 2020 until early January 2021.
Subject # 6
Considered an adult woman in the 70s to 80s at the time of their death. Subject has white hair approximately to the collar and wore only a long-sleeved button-down collar shirt with blue, purple, green and red checks. The estimated time for this is unknown due to the circumstances. The subject may have been in palliative care at the time of death. Subject appears to have upper teeth, with a slightly crooked upper right front incisor that protrudes more than the left incisor. The subject has a very thin build and appears to be shorter.
Topic # 7
Mature female in her late 50s to early 60s at the time of her death. The female is of medium build and has dyed red hair that was in a bun on top of her head, but grows gray roots. The female had obvious tooth decay and her upper front teeth are very short and dark in color. The woman was wearing a pink long-sleeved button-down pajama top that was printed with “Sweet Cat” with images of gray and black cartoon cats. The female had no pants. She was wearing white socks with purple toes and heels, and “UR AMAZING” in pink letters. The woman may have been in hospice care at the time of her death. It is estimated that she had been at the facility for a few days prior to 3/9/2021.
Subject # 9
Adult male in his late 30s to early 40s at the time of death. The male is around 6’0 ” tall with an athletic body type, slightly graying brown hair and a neat beard. The man appears to have been embalmed and made up for a visitation and / or funeral service. He was wearing a white long-sleeved t-shirt and blue jeans. He has three different tattoos; one on the nape which is a sun with sunbeams, one on its left side with a black bull with red eyes and blue lightning surrounding it, and a Rottweiler dog sitting on a pile of skulls on its right calf. Based on the circumstances, it is not known how long he has been in the facility due to the embalming process.

Adult female of around 60 to 70 years of age at the time of her death. The female was bald and wore a dark gray curly wig. She had pink acrylic or pressed nails and wore a long pink pajama shirt with a silkscreen print of a bear holding a coffee mug, pink bunny slippers with the inscription “I am a BEAR in the morning” printed on the top. before. She had a medical port on her chest which was purple. The woman may have been in hospice care at the time of her death. It is estimated that she had been at the facility for approximately 2 weeks prior to 3/9/2021.

Officers continue to work with the Idaho Board of Occupational Licensing. On Thursday, three sets of cremated remains were identified and handed over to family members.
At this time, staff at Downard Funeral Home and Crematorium are cooperating with investigators.
The Pocatello Police Department has been in contact with representatives from Idaho State University (ISU) with reference to the fetuses located at the Downard Funeral Home and Crematory.
