AUBURN, Ala. – Authorities in Alabama are looking for a man who allegedly shot and wounded three Auburn police officers.

Local and national security forces are looking for 29 – year – old Grady Wayne Wilkes, who would be armed and wearing camouflage armor and a helmet. According to a police statement from Auburn, police reacted late Sunday night to a family disruption and were touched by Grady.

It is said that three officers were wounded; their conditions were not immediately released. The state law enforcement agency has activated a blue alert, which is used when police officers are killed or seriously injured.

The Opelika-Auburn News newspaper reports that helicopters are patrolling. A law enforcement command center has been set up at Auburn University, which is warn students stay away from a mobile home park about five miles from the campus.
