FREMONT – A police officer on Wednesday shot dead a person who has been described as an attempted murder suspect, authorities said.
In an opening statement, police said officers responded around 5:20 p.m. to a report of shooting at Southlake Mobile Home Park, 43823 Fremont Blvd., with a victim taken to a trauma center shortly after.
In follow-up statements, a police spokesperson said the suspect was pronounced dead after an officer fired at least one shot. A gun was found near the suspect, a police spokesperson said.
Police did not release details of the person’s identity or the previous shooting. Residents have been urged to avoid Auto Mall Park between Fremont and Grimmer boulevards during an ongoing investigation.
