A strong fog caused the closure of Galeão and Santos Dumont airports in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday (15). There were cancellations and flight delays.
According to Infraero, 16 flights were canceled and 32 were delayed at Santos Dumont, which was closed from 6am to 10.30am. Landing and departure operations were still done only by instruments up to 12:50. At approximately 16:30, the terminal was operating normally.
Galeão International Airport was closed for landings from 6am to 9am. In the afternoon of today, landings and takeoffs were still done only by instruments. According to the airlines, 8 flights were canceled and 52 were delayed at the terminal
