A jaguar escaped from the cage of the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans and eventually attacked other animals from the same park. According to CNN the death of four alpacas, one emu (big bird) and one fox was recorded, but no one was injured.
Valero, the three-year-old feline, was seen outside the cage by a zoo official around 7 am Saturday morning.
During the day of the incident, the New Orleans Zoo was closed, but he returned to receive visitors already this Sunday.
Until the day of the incident, it was closed. To date, the zoo management has not yet discovered how the feline has fled the cage but make sure investigations are underway to get an idea of the causes of the incident and to avoid to repeat similar episodes in the future
