Justice releases 13 more pickpockets in Lisbon – Portugal

The Lisbon PSP arrested in flagrante delicto and brought to justice 13 other pickpockets in the space of just five days. They are between 17 and 81 years old, they are all referenced to make crime the way of life, already with antecedents, but they have all been released by the court – since the prosecutor does not favor measures of coercion of deprivation of liberty

On Friday, in Prata Street, two agents were seen by agents who were removing their wallets from the suitcase of a foreign tourist. There was 160 euros in the interior. On Sunday, two other thieves were spotted on Garrett Street, in a similar situation. He only changed the value taken: 173 euros. In this case, the pair was already monitored by the PSP and was caught in the flight.

Monday in Amadora, it was the turn of a woman to be chased a few seconds after stealing a 600 euro wallet inside. It was enough to enjoy a distraction of the victim. And yesterday, in Baixa de Lisboa, a couple would have escaped with 1130 euros if the agents had not seen them remove their wallet from the backpack of a tourist. Still Tuesday, but in the Estrela region, a 81-year-old Lisbon courier was tracked down to steal a tourist's cell phone at the 25th electricity.

The court banned from frequenting the metro and the electric 15 and 28. Almost at the same time, still in Baixa, another couple and three women were caught in two different situations. They were all released with a term of identity and residence.
