Laura Soveral – the eternal Maria dos Prazeres of the film "A Bee in the Rain" by Fernando Lopes – died Thursday at the Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon, victim of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at the age of 85 years.

He enrolled at the conservatory and was soon called to do cinema and theater. Worked with great directors, from Manoel de Oliveira to Miguel Gomes, in more than 30 films. Recent works include "Tabu" by Miguel Gomes and "Cadence Obstinadas" by Fanny Ardant.
In theater, he collaborated with companies such as Cornucopia, Teatro Experimental de Cascais, Aberto and Barraca theaters, among others, and his last paper did it in the District Theater.
