The medieval market is one of the great novelties of this year's edition of Melgaço em Festa . The summer program of Melgacais was presented this Friday, in the middle of the Republic Square, which not only filled with curiosity without knowing what went on there but also to watch a animation program that accompanied this different press conference, which earned the autarchy several praises for the originality . The program begins on August 3, but, as mentioned, the medieval market promises to delight the entire community and visitors. An initiative that aims to promote the historical heritage of Melgaço marking the date of 1388 as a reference of the county's cultural identity. We will remember legendary episodes of the medieval period, such as Inês Negra on August 11 at 22:00, at Melgaço Castle. The historic center, with its castle and its medieval churches (Matrix and Mercy), is a central place for the promotion of this market, becoming the theater of several thematic animations: Historical Courts, Apeados Tournaments, Shows with Birds of prey, shows of fire, medieval concerts, oriental dances, wedding parade and medieval wedding, among other activities. There will also be a tent for renting costumes, inviting visitors to go back in time.

From August 14 to 16, Castro Laboreiro will be entertained with another novelty of this year's edition: the Festa Castreja. Castro Laboreiro is one of the most emblematic villages of the Peneda Gerês National Park, a result of the isolation that it has undergone in the past, which has preserved heritage elements historical and cultural village such as architecture, landscape and lifestyle of its inhabitants, still marked today by a strong community spirit. All this culture will be experienced during the event, through traditions such as carpet, typical dances, the recreation of a wedding castreja, always with a lot of animation. The program also includes the Folk Moncao – The World to Dance Brandeiro Day and the performance of José Cid. It ends on August 17th with the Emigrant Party.
