Manuela Ferreira Leite harshly criticized Parliament for failing to ask Manuel Pinho for the alleged payments of BES as minister. "It was an absolutely deplorable show."

In TVI24's weekly commentary, the former PSD president also pointed Manuel Pinho for avoiding problems that required the most answers.

"The question that was put to the former minister was that in his mandate he was receiving a monthly payment from BES. That was the news. This was the case that weakened the government politically, which already had several cases in the program, "he said.

At this point, the commentator criticized PS and BE for "mixing everything" in a parliamentary committee "in which they considered the whole energy policy".

Another burning issue for the former minister, the case of EDP's excessive revenues, was thus mingled with the so-called BES payments, allowing Pinho to "pick" the answers that suited him best, continued Ferreira Leite.

"He said at the time that the hearing of Manuel Pinho would be very fast because he had only one question," he had received from BES during that he was minister "and an answer: yes or no."

"Enveloping this little detail on the whole, assuming that this receipt had implications for the policy that it had followed, here, from the king, that we will see the whole policy before we ask that the small question, which concerned only him and not with technical aspects related to energy, "he explained.

What was to be an audition for a former minister if the explanation of a controversial situation was to be "an absolutely deplorable sight".

"I regret that there was a former minister who made fun of the deputies and they went to do this favor to the government, not wanting to be part of a commission whose purpose was the energy policy and where is this aspect that could be made autonomous, "said Manuela Ferreira Leite.

And Manuel Pinho "escaped" from Parliament without answering the essential question: "He did not answer because he was covered by a subject for which he had been summoned and which, according to him, had nothing to do with it.
