Portugal already has a new vaccine against hepatitis A and typhoid fever

A new combination vaccine against hepatitis A and typhoid fever has arrived in Portugal for people traveling to areas where these diseases are endemic

Sanofi Pasteur launched a new combination vaccine in Portugal that protects In fact, it is the first time that protection against typhoid fever can be administered in pharmacies in combination with hepatitis A. The new vaccine offers dual protection and is indicated for people with typhoid fever. 16 years and older, traveling to areas where these diseases are endemic, for example: some countries of Africa, Asia, Central and South America, Caribbean and Europe from the East.

After administration, the new vaccine activates the natural defenses of our body producing protection against typhoid fever for 3 years and against hepatitis A up to 10 years, if a boost by a vaccine monovalent against hepatitis given 6 to 12 months after the initial injection. It can also be used as a booster for any other inactivated vaccine against hepatitis A in travelers who also need protection against typhoid fever.
