The Municipality of Proença-a-Nova will host the grandparents' holiday on July 29th.
The ephemerides mark July 26, but the municipality is preparing for Sunday. after a lunch between grandparents and grandchildren, starting at 12:30, in an initiative to reciprocate the affection that grandfathers give grandchildren, the goal of action, honor the dedication and importance of grandparents in the family. The afternoon will be animated by the play, directed by the Vaátão group, adapted from the traditional tale, the Dwarf Saltitão, as well as fantasy, magic, puppets and traditional instruments, to enhance the heritage and the lifestyle of our grandparents. "The magic of Tecedeira" is the title of this piece and represents the daughter of a miller, who had the gift of spinning, turning the straw of linen into gold. The party will end with dance music to the sound of DJ Gonçalo, inviting everyone to give a dance floor in the precincts of the county seat's primary school.
Registrations will be held until July 23 at the parish councils of the place of residence or at the reception of the town hall. Participation in this activity is free for grandchildren aged 12 and under. Grandparents residing in the county and grandchildren over the age of 12 pay five euros.
According to the religious calendar, the world grandparents day is a tribute to the day of Saint Joachim and Saint Anne, the parents of Mary and the grandparents of Jesus Christ, considered as the patron saints of the great parents.
