Pediatric doctor Lyse Soares, 34, was registered in a police station that was attacked by the parents of a child in a hospital in Niterói, in the metropolitan area of Rio de Janeiro. The couple said that there was no help to the doctor, who reportedly refused to go see their son with a fever at dawn.

The images of the security cameras show that the doctor, coming out of his room, is attacked by a woman, Natália Jesus da Silva, with a slap and a hair stroke. Shortly after, a man appears and strikes the health worker in the hallway of the hospital. The couple stated that their son had a fever and that the pediatrician had taken medicine on the night of April 1 and that he had been released to return home. According to the father, the situation worsened at home, and fever reached 42 degrees and they decided to return to the hospital at dawn.

Less than a week after the confusion, the couple turned to the police and accused Lyse Soares of not helping.

The Regional Medical Council of Rio de Janeiro (Cremerj) opened an investigation to find out the facts related to the case. According to them, the doctor was at the headquarters of the council to report the incident.

Counsel also stated that he "repudiates any type of aggression towards physicians and other health professionals in the performance of their duties."
