Two women died in an accident at IP3, in Santa Comba Do – No

"There are two women traveling in the same vehicle to Coimbra – Viseu," said Captain Pedro Reis of the Viseu Detachment.

According to Pedro Reis, "the other vehicle had four occupants", two were seriously injured and the other two slightly injured.

"The two light wounded are a month old baby and their grandmother Serious wounds are the baby's grandfather and mother," he added.

Initially, the Viseu Relief District District Command reported that six wounded were injured, admitting that two of them were considered "very serious".

Pedro Reis explained that "the dead were declared on the spot, but not immediately", and that the fire brigade and the team of the INEM (National Institute of Medical Emergency) carried out resuscitation maneuvers ".

According to the head of the Viseu Traffic Detachment, "everything indicates that it was a frontal collision, by the positioning of the vehicles and by some clues" that remained on the road .

"One of the vehicles got off the track that was following, he went on the other lane and crashed into another vehicle, but we do not know what the causes are , we are collecting all the traces to continue the investigation ".

The accident occurred around 11:50, near the Treixedo knot, towards Viseu – Santa Comba Dão.

There were 35 operating personnel, supported by 15 vehicles.
