Power cuts increase with high winds on the WNY

BUFFALO, N.Y. – As the wind rose on Sunday, more and more customers from western New York State reported power outages.

National Grid has approximately 31,000 customers in Erie County.

New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG), more than 25,000 customers without electricity, mainly in Erie and Niagara Counties.

A reported power outage affected 160 customers in Buffalo before strong winds blew into the city later Sunday.

The outage was reported at 3:24 am, just south of Bailey and East Delevan avenues.

National Grid encourages customers to report outages by calling their hotline at 800-465-1212 or on their website.
