Pregnant woman run over as man steals his car

MADISON (WKOW) – Police in Madison say a pregnant woman was taken to hospital after a man stole her car and crashed it on Sunday afternoon.

Madison Police responded to the Kwik Trip gas station on the 7700 block of Mineral Point Road just before 12:30 p.m. for reporting a car theft.

Police reported that the owner of the car said they put air in their tires when a man got into the moving car.

Officers say he put the car in reverse for take off and crushed the victim’s right leg as she tried to get him out of his car.

Officers said the 34-year-old victim was 20 weeks pregnant and had been taken for medical treatment for soft tissue injuries to his leg.

Later that evening, Madison Police released a photo of the suspect that appears to have come from a security camera.

Investigators are asking anyone who knows the man to call the Madison Police Department.
