Princess Beatrice welcomed her first child with her husband Edoardo Mpelli Mozzi.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the news on Monday in a statement announcing that Queen Elizabeth II’s daughter had given birth to her baby girl days earlier.
“Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday September 18, 2021 at 11:42 pm at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London”, the Palace wrote on Twitter.
The statement continued on the Royal Family’s website, noting that the child was born and weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces.

“The grandparents and great-grandparents of the new baby have all been informed and are delighted with the news. The family would like to thank all of the hospital staff for their wonderful care,” the longer statement concluded. “Her Royal Highness and her child are doing well, and the couple can’t wait to introduce their daughter to her older brother Christopher Woolf.”
The new mom also shared the good news on her Princess Beatrice of York Twitter account.

“So delighted to share the news of the safe arrival of our daughter on Saturday September 18, 2021 at 11:42 pm at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London”, the tweet reads. “Thank you to the midwifery team and everyone at the hospital for their wonderful care.”
Beatrice and Mozzi first announced they were expecting a child in May 2021. Beatrice, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, married the real estate developer in July 2020 in a small ceremony constrained by coronavirus restrictions. She is ninth to the British throne.

The baby is the Queen’s 12th great-grandchild and the second of her grandparents after Beatrice’s younger sister Princess Eugenie welcomed her son named August with husband Jack Brooksbank in February.

People note that Beatrice was already the mother-in-law of Edoardo’s son Wolfie, whose joint custody he shares with his ex, Dara Huang, an architect and designer who divides his time between London and Hong Kong.
