BOWLING GREEN – Private Jeffery J. Huffman of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Bowling Green Post received the Ace Award at a ceremony held today at the Bowling Green Post. Lieutenant Shaun J. Robinson, Commander of the Bowling Green Post, presented Private Huffman with the second Ace Award of his career.

The Ace Award recognizes excellence in the fight against auto theft. Private Huffman recovered five stolen vehicles with a combined value of over $ 54,000 and apprehended six suspects in connection with the thefts. A certificate, uniform ribbon and Ace license plate to display on his cruiser were presented.

“This award is representative of Private Huffman’s dedication and service to the citizens he has sworn to protect,” said Lieutenant Robinson. “His ability to look past the plate at every stop in traffic is evident in his recovery of five stolen vehicles.”

Private Huffman began his patrolling career in October 2016 as a member of the Academy’s 161st Class. He got his commission in March of the following year and was assigned to the Bowling Green Post. Private Huffman won his first Ace Award in 2018, recovering six stolen vehicles.
