WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) – A photo of a protester who is a person of interest in the riot at the U.S. Capitol was released on Tuesday.

Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy posted a photo on Twitter he said the US Capitol Police shared with him saying the man in the photo was wanted for questioning in connection with the police officer’s murder fallen from the Capitol Brian Sicknick.
Senator Cassidy later retracted his original statement, saying, “Capitol Police informed me that this person was a person of interest, but for another incident that occurred on Capitol Hill on January 6.”

Ahead of the rally, protesters traveled to the nation’s capital to support President Donald Trump and challenge the 2020 election results.
The president argued that the election results were fraudulent.

After the rally, a crowd marched towards the Capitol building and quickly overwhelmed the police.
Five people have died in the incident, which sent shockwaves across the country.
