Rockstar launches a big update for Red Dead Redemption 2 next week. The developer introduces a variety of new modes, clothing, weapons and other features into the game's online component, Red Dead Online, as well as a new set of timed exclusive content aimed at PS4 users.
First, PS4 players will have early access to Open Target races before launching into Xbox One. These are variants of the upcoming new target races in the update, and they have players who battle in an open space to shoot the largest number of targets on horseback.
Plus, PS4 players will have quick access to a handful of items. Among these, the leader Jawbone Knife, described by Rockstar as "a unique melee weapon with a handle sculpted with talent in the remains of the jaw of a slain animal". PS4 players will also be the first to have "a range of new clothing options", as well as three new emotes.
The update for Red Dead Online will be available on PS4 and Xbox One on February 26th. Rockstar did not specify when the Open Target races and the Jawbone knife will arrive on Xbox One, but the previous PS4 content remained exclusive to the Sony console. for 30 days, this will likely be the case for this lot.
In addition to timed content for the PS4, next week's update will add a new Free Roam event called Fool's Gold, which offers players to wear gilded and ridiculous armor.
