UPDATE: Sony’s PSN server status page has changed and now lists all major PlayStation Network services as available on PS4 and PS5 consoles.
And with all of the services now listed as up and running, all PSN users should be back online very soon. PSN servers were down for two hours for some players tonight.
ORIGINAL: Gamers who are having trouble logging in and playing their favorite games have been hit by a new issue on the PS4 and PS5 consoles.
Thousands of reports are coming in tonight that PSN is down and basic services are not working as they should.
The issues began to be shared online by affected players around 8 p.m. BST and continue on August 31.
One user confirmed that it was started from a live game, confirming, “Was anyone else in the war zone or the cold war when this happened? literally kicked me out of a 15-kill rebirth game. “
It appears that most of the players affected tonight will no longer be able to log into their PSN accounts or play online games.
It’s unclear what caused tonight’s outage or how long PlayStation Network could be affected by it.
The PSN server status page confirms that there is a complete outage of all services on all major PlayStation platforms.
A message from the PlayStation support team reads: “You may have difficulty launching games, applications or network features. We do our best to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.
“You may have difficulty signing in or creating an account for PlayStation Network. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
More news is expected to be shared by PlayStation if tonight’s outage continues on PS4, PS5 and website services.
