LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) – Officials investigate another confirmed case of measles in a Los Angeles County resident and another non-resident case of measles that crossed southern California as part of an upsurge in the disease at the national level and in the Southland.
The Los Angeles County Public Health Department has announced that people who may be on the premises at the time and date listed below may be at risk of getting measles up to the time of the test. 21 days after their exposure:

Measles is an extremely contagious and potentially serious disease that causes fever, rashes, coughing and red, watery eyes. Measles is easily transmitted by air and by direct contact with an infected person. Infected people are contagious even before they have symptoms and know that they are infected.
Health officials also recommend monitoring themselves for unexplained fever and / or rash 7 to 21 days after exposure. If symptoms occur, stay home and call a health care provider immediately.
"The best way to protect yourself against measles is to get vaccinated – all children and non-immune adults need to be vaccinated against measles," said Anissa Davis, Long Beach Health Officer. "If you are not sure of your vaccination status, contact your provider to make sure you are up to date."
