A conservative radio talk show host and preacher in Denver who spoke out against COVID-19 vaccines has died after contracting coronavirus, one of his co-hosts has announced.
Bob Enyart, who allegedly made baseless claims about vaccines on his radio show and website, earlier this year urged his supporters to boycott the vaccine in a bid to “further increase social tension and put pressure on the child killers “.
Fred Williams, one of Enyart’s co-hosts, announced his death on Facebook on Monday.
“It was with an extremely heavy heart that my close friend and Real Science Radio co-host lost his battle with Covid,” Williams wrote.
“Bob Enyart was one of the smartest people and without a doubt the wisest person I know,” added Williams. “While being extremely kind and humble, and always, always ready to listen and discuss whatever you wanted.”
The Jefferson County, Colorado coroner confirmed to the Washington Post that Enyart died, but did not say when he died or provide an official cause of death, citing confidentiality concerns.
The Post noted that Enyart is at least the fifth conservative radio host who has questioned vaccines or argued against mask warrants and other public health measures to die after contracting coronavirus. In August, Tennessee host Phil Valentine died of COVID-19 after expressing vaccine skepticism and later said he regretted not being vaccinated.
Last year, Enyart sued the state of Colorado to grant a temporary restraining order against a local public health order on the use of masks during religious services and rules limiting gatherings to the time to 175 people, reported Westword, a Denver-based outlet.
In another passage on his website, Enyart criticized reporters who he said suggested “recklessly using the term” cases “to lump together antibody tests, viral tests and those with the disease. real, as if there was no difference between the virus, SARS-CoV-2, and the COVID-19 disease that it may or may not cause. ”
“Such irresponsible reporting in itself can kill people because ideas have consequences,” he added.
