Raiders release Lee Smith

ALAMEDA, California – The Oakland Raiders published TE Lee Smith, the club announced Thursday.

Smith, who signed with the Raiders as an unrestricted free agent in 2015, played 51 games with 32 starts in four seasons with silver and blacks. He had 36 receptions for 248 yards with four touchdowns, including three career records in 2018, his best career total. He started the 15 games of his career for Oakland, a career high, in 2015.

In his eight-year career, including four seasons with the Buffalo Bills, Smith has played 107 games and 66 starts, recording 56 receptions for 392 yards and seven touchdowns. Originally, a fifth round pick (159th overall) of the 2011 NFL draft of the New England Patriots, native of Powell, Tenn., Totaled 75 career receptions for 791 yards.
