Rain is developing this weekend with snow potential for much of Siouxland on Sunday evening

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – We were able to enjoy another lovely day in the area, most of us having seen peaks in the 50s.

There is a lot of change on the way and it will start with a few more clouds moving on Friday night with dips in the low in the mid 30s.

Clouds will continue to thicken throughout the day on Saturday and late rain showers will become possible, particularly in northeastern Nebraska with highs between the low to mid 1950s.

Rain is then expected to flood the area on Saturday evening with rain likely all day Sunday as well as highs Sunday in the low to mid 1940s.

Sunday will also be very windy with winds sometimes blowing over 40 miles per hour, so Sunday won’t be one of our nicest days.

Sunday evening will start to cool and that’s when the snow will start to mix with the rain, first in western Siouxland.

Then, as we move into Sunday night, we’ll see more snow mixing with the rain, with northern Siouxland likely seeing all the snow for a while.

Northern Siouxland might end up seeing a few inches of snow with less amounts the further south you go.

Keep in mind that this storm still has a long way to go for things to change, and you’ll want to stay on top of the latest news all weekend on News 4.
