A few weeks ago, our furnace (technically a ductless heat pump) stopped working at the worst time of the year. But at least one room stays warm all winter long – thanks to my gaming PC.
Now, The Wall Street Journal reports that this could actually be a trend: some miners and bitcoin players are heating their rooms, growing tomatoes, and even heating a chicken coop during the pandemic.
It made me wonder: how much Edge do readers do the same?

Me, I run my PC all night, folding the proteins to help study COVID-19, which I highly recommend. (Just passed 175 million points this week.) But I have to admit, the room hasn’t been that hot since I replaced my own GeForce GTX 1080. The AMD Radeon RX 6800, impossible to find, definitely put on more heat, and we actually had to open a window when I had an Nvidia RTX 3080 refolding these proteins. I can’t speak for all models, but Founder’s Edition works hot.
Hoping that Mitsubishi will soon deliver a new control panel for my heat pump.
