The potential addition of a new character called Rampart was revealed on February 26, while a list of many unpublished legends, including Octane and Wattson, had been discovered.

That1MiningGuy, a popular data miner, suggests that the new legend on which Respawn Entertainment works might soon be ready for action after discovering the character's abilities at stake.

Wattson is the last character to have been added to Apex Legends, but others are about to be added.

The first of the abilities revealed by Rampart calls "Coverage to Amped" and will likely see the champion build a short wall for cover in the game, which "will increase the damage done to anyone standing nearby.

It has also been revealed that this wall will be available to be picked up and returned to the ground for players who could use it in the shelter when they cross some of the open plains of King's Canyon.

The second of the new legend's capabilities includes a turret that can be placed called "My Friend Maxim", which players can drop anywhere for themselves or their team.

The topic starts at 3:25 for mobile users.

All skills of Rempart in Apex Legends

Depending on the game files disclosed, which may still be in development and subject to change, Rampart's capabilities in Apex Legends are as follows:

  • Amped Blanket – Builds a blanket that increases the damage done to anyone nearby, who can be picked up and moved.
  • My friend maxim – Place a mounted machine gun that any member of the team can use, uses large ammo.
  • fixer – Swap a team melee for a key that players can use to repair structures.
  • Fire cover – Shooting Amped's cover will overload your weapon's damage.
  • Gunner – LMGs have increased the capacity of the store and recharged faster

The placeable turret of Rampart seems to use heavy ammunition for its rounds. Players will need to stock up a bit during games once this legend is released: Use heavy ammo.

That1MiningGuy also revealed that another upcoming character, Crypto, might be able to hack those turrets with his abilities, claiming that he also possesses turret handling skills in his code. "I actually think it's the turrets that will be interfaceable by Crypto, that it's able to control them or to hack and blow them up."

Another of the abilities revealed by Rampart is called "Fix", which allows him to use a key that could be used to repair some of his own turrets.

Rampart also has a capability called "Cover Shot" and his description adds that using his wall cover can increase the damage: "Shooting from a cover will overload the damage of your weapon.

Screen capture of the turret's ability to leak into Rampart in the Apex Legends code.

The final capacity that has been disclosed as "Gunner", which may well be Rampart's passive capability, increases the loader capacity and shortens the reloading times when the Legend uses a light machine gun.

That1MiningGuy claims that Rampart could have more passive capacity because of the nature of those that have already been disclosed.

The legend should join the lineup behind two other legends Respawn teases, Crypto and Rosie, which many fans expect to see come out for season 3, before making their appearance in the game.
