Rams News: Rams Place 2nd in ESPN Power Rankings

ESPN Power Ratings to have the undefeated The Los Angeles Rams at number two after the week two slate. Rams earn two spots on this particular list after beating the Indianapolis Colts on Highway 27-24.

ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry remarks over Cooper Kupps, two game starts over 200 yards combined on receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Kupp is no stranger to fantasy lists, but his production across two games exceeded expectations. With quarterback Matthew Stafford, Kupp has produced consecutive games of over 100 receiving yards and already has three receiving touchdowns, as many as he had in 2020. The Rams’ offense certainly displayed moments of dominance as they traveled ninety yards down the field for a Stafford touchdown at Kupp on their first possession. But they also showed their ability to cope with adversity by dropping three points in the second half and rebounding for victory.

This week we saw the first ranked Kansas City Chiefs take their first loss of the season at Baltimore Ravens. ESPN drops the Chiefs to third and the Baltimore Ravens down to ninth.

The 2-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers take the Chiefs’ top spot on this particular list after securing their second win of the season against the New York Jets.

The top two ESPN-ranked teams will collide in Week 3 as the Buccaneers travel to meet the Rams at SoFi Stadium. The last time these two teams met was in Week 11 of last season and the Rams won this game 27-24. While the Buccaneers lineup has remained the same by design, the Rams roster shows substantial differences since the last meeting. The Rams will rely on quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp to continue connecting to move the chains and put points on the board. Could this be a preview of the nfc championship Game? Considering the rankings, ESPN looks like it’s likely.
