Random: Nintendo has an issue with its Joy-Con Switch, and we’re not talking about drift

Over the years since the Nintendo Switch launched, we’ve seen a wide variety of variations of Joy-Con controllers. With so many colors on the market, you should be able to find a Joy-Con to express your own personality.

However, IGN bigwig Peer Schneider noticed a glaring problem – and no, it has nothing to do with drifting analog sticks. There are simply too many shades of red in the variants on sale.

In a recent tweet, Peer shows a photo of the Neon Red, Super Mario Odyssey Red, Splatoon pink and the Joy-Con that comes with the Mario Red & Blue edition. And we have to admit, he’s right – they’re all striking similar, with only one very slight difference in color between them. He also argues that the spectrum contains colors that Nintendo has not yet used for Joy-Con – perhaps the time is right.

At least Peer is impressed that the Switch UI can tell them apart once rooted in the system. Now that’s a good idea!

We’re still coming to terms with the two shades of blue on display with the recently revealed Limited Edition Zelda: Skyward Sword Joy-Cons. Come on, Nintendo. Pick a shade of blue and stick to it.
