MINNEAPOLIS – Let’s face it, we could all enjoy a week of relaxation! Good news, switch to Chill’s “Cold week” starts next Monday, October 11. Structured to resemble a traditional homecoming week at school, Chill Week focuses on a daily theme to encourage teens (and adults) to reflect and practice self-care using the Change to Chill’s free online resources and activities.

The themes for this year’s Chill Week are:

• Move-it Monday – focus on physical activity and mindful movement.

• Tour Tuesday – encourages participants to find places in their communities that help them relax and de-stress (ie chillout area at school, local park, community garden, etc.).

• Wellness Wednesday – takes participants to the Cold Change Stressor Quiz to assess their stressors, understand their physical impacts and learn coping skills. Also encourages discussion of mental health stigma.

• Grateful Thursday – encourages participants to practice gratitude as a way to improve their mood, health and overall well-being.

• Friendship Friday – emphasizes the importance of social bonds and healthy relationships.

All are invited to participate, whether as an individual, school or community, or as a family. For more information, check out this year’s Chill Week guide. We also encourage you to follow Change to Chill on social media and show off how you celebrate #ChillWeek.

Change to Chill is Allina Health’s free online resource that offers mental health resources for teens designed to help them learn to relax and integrate healthy habits into their lifestyle.
