RISE AGAINST HUNGER: Lakeview Outreach and Fellowship will host Rose Against Hunger from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. today in the cafeteria of Lakview High School. PRAYER GATHERING: A drive-through prayer rally and tent revival will be held at 7:00 p.m. today and Sunday at 8301 Market Street, Youngstown.

BIRTHDAY: Third Christian Church, 241 First St., Warren, will be celebrating its 101st birthday in September. Upcoming events are a musical performance on Sunday at 4 p.m. and the church’s 101st birthday at 11 a.m. on September 26.

MEN’S RALLY: The Men’s Rally in the Valley will take place at 7 a.m. at 4 p.m. on October 9 at the Covelli Center in Youngstown. The theme is “Be united in Christ.” Free entry. FALL AWAKENING: The West Mecca Biblical Methodist Church, 1215 Greenville Road, Cortland, will host a fall revival from September 29 to October 3 with Reverend Rowan Fay of North Carolina. Services are 7 p.m. from September 29 to October 1 and 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on October 3.

BUS TRIP: Jesus the Key Ministries has a few openings on his bus trip to Lancaster, PA. The trip is to the Sight and Sound Theater to see “Queen Esther”, a live theatrical presentation on December 8 and 9 from First Christian Church, Columbiana. The cost is $ 320. CAHILL CONCERT: Internationally renowned Irish tenor Emmet Cahill will perform his fall back-to-school concert at 7:30 p.m. on October 1 at St. Columba’s Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave. near downtown.

This will be the singer’s fourth church appearance, having previously performed in December 2016 and 2017, as well as May 2019. Cahill is one of the lead vocalists of Celtic Thunder and his concert will be a combination of Irish music, music classical, show arias and church hymns.

Proceeds will go to St. Columba’s pantry and educational programs.

Tickets can be purchased for a special get-together before the concert with Emmet at 6 p.m. for $ 50. The other tickets cost $ 40 for the front of the middle section and $ 30 for the seats at the back of the church.

Lunch will include a presentation by Christina Benton, owner of Just Pizzelles in Cortland. Music will be provided by Karen Gerberry and guest speaker will be Mary Haddad from Adrian, Michigan, who will speak on “Survival and success in the search for meaning”.

OKTOBERFEST: Christ Our Savior / Paroisse Saint-Nicolas, 764 Fifth St., Struthers, will host its third annual Oktoberfest from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on October 1. The event will feature food, contests and entertainment by Youngstown Saxon Club Brass Band from 7am to 10pm

GUEST SPEAKER: The Word of Life Christian Center, 127 Wasser Road, Greenville, Pa. Will host guest speaker Reverend Woody Woodson from Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 26 at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Woodson is known for preaching, healing, and prophetic transmission.
