According to information reported by Theo Epstein himself, Cubs' relief pitcher Brandon Morrow is officially absent for the remainder of the 2019 season.
Theo confirms that Brandon Morrow has finished for the year. Suffering from a setback while he was trying to fight his way.
Contreras is doing well, has progressed to the point where he is now strengthening the hamstrings. No specific schedule upon his return though.

According to reports, he suffered a setback, a blow to the return of Morrow, 35, for whom the Cubs still had high hopes.
Morrow did not show up at the MLB more than a year after his elbow surgery that he suffered last November.
Cubs general manager Jed Hoyer recently said the Cubs had their "cross your fingers" when it comes to Morrow but he did not count on his return and that definitely puts the nail in the coffin for his return in 2019.
Morrow was going to represent a strong comeback for the Cubs, being undeniably one of the best relief pitchers of the team last season.
As our Tony Andracki noted earlier this summer, Morrow was excellent in the Cubs stadium last season, where he earned a 1.47, 1.08 WHIP and a 22-save chance of 24. in 35 outputs.
Reports indicate that Morrow will not have enough time to get back in shape before the end of the season, so any update to the return date will likely take place long. The last time Morrow has pitched more than 35 innings, it was in 2017, with six wins and a 2.06 run in 43.2.
