ESPN’s Brady Henderson reports that Ryan Neal has been proposed by the Seattle Seahawks and will therefore return for a third season in Seattle.
I’m told another exclusive rights free agent the Seahawks have come up with is defensive back Ryan Neal. It was also planned. Neal made four starts last season while Jamal Adams was injured and had two interceptions, one of which sealed a victory over Dallas.

Neal played a key role with the Seahawks last season and started in four games. His biggest game of the season, as Henderson mentioned in his tweet, was when he knocked out Dak Prescott with less than a minute to go to seal a 7-point win for the Seahawks over the Cowboys Week 3.
Seattle has now awarded contracts to three exclusive rights-free agents: Kyle Fuller, Bryan Mone and now also Ryan Neal. Running back Patrick Carr and defensive backs Jayson Stanley and Linden Stephens have yet to be submitted.
More complete, I was somewhat surprised by, but Mone and Neal played key roles in defense last year and their contracts did not surprise me. We are now just 5 days away from the start of NFL free agency on March 17th.
