ORANGE COUNTY, FL – Residents who live in the Arden Villas apartment complex send a message to their landlord on Sunday: “Secure our homes, or you won’t get the rent.”

It comes just a day after Orange County Sheriff’s deputies found the body of former employee and resident Miya Marcano.

Investigators believe that one of the complex’s maintenance workers, Armando Caballero, abducted her last Friday from his apartment.

MPs said complex maintenance worker Armando Caballero used her master key to open the door to Marcano’s apartment when she was not at home.

Investigators are still awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine Miya’s cause of death.

On Tuesday, the resort released a statement saying they were adding more security. He also said: “We immediately repositioned a guard at the front door to document all residents and guests entering and exiting the premises.”

On Sunday, Channel 9 arrived at the complex and discovered that there was no guard on duty and Channel 9 was able to walk through the open gate without being stopped.

Channel 9 has contacted the apartment complex to request comment regarding the open door on Sunday.

Residents are asking for more lights and cameras, resident compensation and good door security.

Flyers that appear around the complex also tell residents to refuse to pay rent, with the hashtag #makeardenanswer.
