After the publication of our review Decay of Logos (noted at 3.9, partly because of major technical issues related to our copy of the Xbox One review), the publisher, Rising Star Games, drew our attention to the fact that they had mistakenly provided us with a criticism. copy dated two months and not representative of the quality of the final version. This is a very unusual situation (but not unprecedented) and, because at IGN, we never want to distort a game with our readers, we have removed our article and will publish a new version as soon as we can.

A note on our policy regarding pre-publication bugs: Our goal is always to present readers with the most accurate and up-to-date picture possible of a new game, which is possible when you're in the game. A game becomes available, but with the way modern game development means that you have to try to hit a moving target. So, since we sometimes play before the last patch of the first day, we are ready to contact developers when we encounter major bugs. We often go to the developers to ask them if these issues will be solved by the launch. In this case, we contacted PR last week with a list of many bug and stability issues we had encountered, but we were only told that a fix would fix the crash issues. This seems to have been the result of poor internal communication unhappy at the publisher. We are of course very sympathetic to the developers who created Decay of Logos and we will always do everything in our power to be fair to game makers and their work.
